Terms of Service
Effective 16 September 2026. Written to be read, not skimmed. If anything here is unclear, email hello@mentn.ai and we will answer in plain English.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Mentn (“we”, “us”) operates mentn.ai and api.mentn.ai (the “Service”). The Service is an index of which domains large language models such as ChatGPT cite for public questions, plus tools to search and track that index. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
You sign in with a magic link sent to your email; there are no passwords. You are responsible for the email account you use and for anything done from your Mentn account. One person, one account; a workspace for a team or agency can be arranged by emailing us. You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live.
3. The launch offer and paid plans
During launch, one project (one tracked domain) is free for 12 months from the day you create it. We do not take a card and nothing is charged automatically. Before your year ends we will email you the paid plans; if you choose one, billing will run through Stripe under the terms shown at that time. If you choose none, your project stops being re-checked but your account and your history remain.
4. Acceptable use
Use the Service for its purpose: understanding and improving how AI assistants cite websites. Do not scrape, mirror, resell or bulk-export the index; do not use it to build a competing index; do not probe, overload or attempt to bypass rate limits or access controls; and do not use the free Domain Check by automated means. We may suspend accounts that do.
5. What the data is (and is not)
The index is built from aggregate public answers given by LLMs to questions we ask them. It records what a model said at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of what a model will say next, not a ranking service, and not advice. Models change their answers; our job is to record that honestly, including when a citation is lost.
6. Your content and our content
You own the domains, project names and settings you enter. We own the index, the extraction, the software and the site content. You may use reports and exports from your account in your own work, including for your clients, with attribution to Mentn where the report shows it.
7. Third-party services
We rely on vendors to run the Service: YepAPI and ScrapingBee to query models and collect answers, Mailgun to send magic-link emails, and Stripe for any future billing. Their terms apply to their part of the work. Our Privacy Policy lists what each one receives.
8. Availability and changes
The Service is provided as is. We aim for continuous crawling but do not promise uptime, crawl frequency or that any domain will appear in the index. We may change or discontinue features, and we will give notice of material changes to these terms by email or on this page.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on the index. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which during the launch offer is zero.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@mentn.ai. Deleting your account removes your personal data; the aggregate index (which contains no personal data) is not affected, because it only grows.
11. Governing law
Governing law and venue will be stated here in the next revision of these terms; we will email account holders before that change takes effect. Until then, please raise any dispute with us first at hello@mentn.ai and we will try to resolve it informally.
